For Allied Health Practitioners
What’s the right physical activity for your client?
As a health practitioner, do you ever wish you could give your client or patient a user’s manual for their own body, so they could benefit from your treatments even more?
If one thing your client needs to learn is what type of physical movement is best for them – and how to get there – let’s collaborate.
I enjoy teaching people how their bodies are supposed to move, and how they can partner with their bodies for self-sustained health and comfort.
My expertise and approach are best for adults whose bodies are changing, for any number of reasons — including injury, illness, postural imbalances and plain ol’ aging.
Experience with medical conditions
Below is a partial list of conditions I’ve supported. Most of my clients are managing more than one:
- Osteo- and Rheumatoid arthritis
- Total knee & hip replacements – pre-surgery and post-rehab
- Other joint and soft tissue pathologies – tendinopathies, impingement, PFS, SI joint instability
- Osteoporosis and osteopenia
- Spine conditions including stenosis, scoliosis, disc pathology and post-rehab for spinal fusions, laminectomies and more
- Rheumatic conditions, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, depression/anxiety
- Hypertension, cardiopulmonary disease, diabetes
- Parkinson’s Disease, TBI, adult onset hydrocephalus
Encouraging body-friendliness
Rather than “exercise” and “fitness,” my focus is on feeling better in one’s body, through body-friendly programs that enhance movement efficiency, reduce pain and build the strength and stamina to enjoy life.
Working 1-on-1 with clients in their homes or private studio space, I conduct in-depth assessments before providing customized movement instruction and – if needed – manual bodywork. I’m more than happy to collaborate with you along the way, in accordance with the wishes of our mutual client.
My toolbox contains a variety of influences, including corrective exercise for postural imbalances, post-rehab protocols, the unfolding science of fascia, somatic movement, yoga, breath work, exercise science and manual therapies.
